Biography

Dr. Tim McNichols is a lecturer in the Department of Technology and Psychology at the Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT). He holds a PhD in Business from Trinity College Dublin and specialises in digital media entrepreneurship, business strategy and analytics, consumer cyberpsychology, and applied research. Dr. McNichols is actively involved in research supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with interests spanning game-based learning, online consumer behaviour, and internet-mediated collaboration.

He contributes to the academic community through teaching modules on digital entrepreneurship, cyberpsychology, and research methods, and has participated in significant EU- and Enterprise Ireland-funded projects supporting innovation, online strategy, and business development for SMEs. His scholarly output includes editing for the International Journal of Game-Based Learning, published contributions on game-based learning and the use of social media in teaching, and recognition as a finalist for the Best Paper Award at the Chicago International Conference on Education.

Dr. McNichols is also engaged in industry-academia collaboration, especially in commercialising academic research and fostering innovation. He is known for integrating practical business insight into his teaching, enhancing student learning and contributing to developments in digital media and technology in Ireland.
