Biography
Stefan Paz Berrios is a lecturer and researcher at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology Dún Laoghaire, (IADT) in Dublin, Ireland, with over a decade of experience in academia. He teaches across multiple programmes within the Faculty of Film, Art + Creative Technologies, including the MSc in User Experience Design, BSc (Honours) in Creative Computing, BSc (Honours) in Applied Psychology (PSI Accredited), and BA (Honours) in Visual Communication Design.
His expertise lies primarily in User Interface (UI), User Experience (UX), and Web Design and Development, with a strong focus on accessibility, data visualisation, web typography, and design systems. Stefan is passionate about empowering people through accessible, robust, and aesthetically thoughtful technology, which is reflected in his teaching and research interests.
Stefan holds an MA in Digital Media from Technological University Dublin (First-Class Honours) and a BSc in Multimedia from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. He has contributed to applied research projects, including collaborations with The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland on UI/UX design and has been involved in multiple Enterprise Ireland Innovation Voucher projects.
In addition to his teaching and research roles, Stefan serves as the academic lead representing IADT at The Creative Futures Academy, a collaborative initiative with NCAD and UCD aimed at delivering agile and responsive courses to support Ireland’s cultural and creative sectors. He has also supervised student projects focused on user-centered design and accessibility, and has been active in organising student showcases and employer forums to connect students with industry.
Stefan has presented his work at international conferences such as SXSW and Campus Party Madrid and has received several awards, including the Patrick O’Reilly Graduate Achievement Award and recognition at digital media events in Ireland and Wales.
