Biography

Dr Siobhán O'Gorman is an academic and researcher at the nexus of theatre, performance, and visual arts. As Head of Department of Design and Visual Arts at IADT, she brings extensive experience from higher education institutions including the University of Lincoln, Derby University, Trinity College Dublin, and University of Galway.

With a career spanning curatorial work, research networks, and academic publishing, Dr O'Gorman has made significant contributions to the field of performance studies. Her expertise has been recognised through numerous positions, including as a core member of the international Gate Theatre Research Network (2017-2021), a Moore Institute Visiting Fellow (2018), and a Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellow (2013-2015).

Dr O'Gorman's scholarly impact extends through her editorial leadership on special journal issues examining Irish cultural connections within European contexts and performance in Ireland. Her collaborative approach to academia is evident through her curation of events for organisations including the Irish Society for Theatre Research, Lincoln Festival of Creativity, Theatre and Performance Research Association, Prague Quadrennial, and Dublin International Theatre Festival.

Dr O'Gorman's scholarship appears in a range of scholarly publications including Irish Studies Review, Journal of Adaptation in Film and Performance, and Studies in Theatre and Performance, reflecting her continued commitment to advancing knowledge at the intersection of performance, design, and visual culture.
