Biography
Dr. Michael Connerty is a lecturer in film and animation history at the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT), where he also serves as the co-chair of the Animation programme. He completed his PhD at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, in 2018. His research focuses on early British comics, Irish studies, and classical Hollywood animation, with a notable publication being his monograph The Comic Strip Art of Jack B. Yeats (Palgrave Macmillan, 2021). Dr. Connerty has taught at various institutions, including Griffith College and Trinity College Dublin, and has presented papers at numerous international conferences on topics related to comics history and animation. He delivers modules on film and animation history, visual culture, and comics, combining theory and practice to engage students across different programmes at IADT
