Description

Chair of GEECT - A regional council of CILECT. GEECT, or the European Grouping of Film and Television Schools, is an organization focused on supporting and connecting film schools across Europe. It hosts leadership symposiums for educators and administrators to discuss innovative approaches to leadership in film education. GEECT also organizes regional meetings to address important issues such as new statutes, activity plans, and fee structures. Additionally, it publishes statements on topics like artistic research and advocates for the importance of equipment in film schools. The organization is led by a Regional Council, which includes a Chair (currently Barry Dignam), a Vice Chair and Treasurer, and other members from various European film schools. The council is supported by an Admin & Communications Coordinator who handles administrative tasks.
