The Association of Franco-Irish Studies (AFIS) functions as a scholarly organization dedicated to fostering research, dialogue, and collaboration regarding the historical, cultural, literary, and social connections between France and Ireland. It supports research activities through annual conferences, seminars, publications, and interdisciplinary networks for academics and postgraduate students interested in Franco-Irish themes.​

AFIS Core Function
AFIS promotes the academic study and public awareness of French-Irish relations by:

Coordinating conferences that alternate between France and Ireland, encouraging international scholarly exchange.​

Publishing academic works—including books and articles—focused on Franco-Irish cultural, literary, and social subjects.​

Facilitating postdoctoral and postgraduate collaborations, training forums, and themed research projects spanning a variety of disciplines.​
